New Haven Woman Admits Robbing New Haven Bank

David B. Fein, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, today announced that MARTA LOZADA, 43, of Orchard Street, New Haven, pleaded guilty on Monday, March 7, before United States District Judge Janet C. Hall in Bridgeport to one count of bank larceny.

According to court documents and statements made in court, on February 4, 2010, LOZADA robbed a Bank of America branch located at 100 Amity Road in New Haven of approximately $4,858.

Judge Hall has scheduled sentencing for May 26, 2011, at which time LOZADA faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years and a fine of up to $250,000.

LOZADA is detained.

This case was investigated by the New Haven Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Calvin B. Kurimai.
