  • District of Connecticut (203) 821-3700

David B. Fein, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that ORLANDO CORTEZ JOHNSON, also known as “Rolando Thompson” and “Orland Johnson,” 37, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Stefan R. Underhill in Bridgeport to 12 months and one day of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release. On November 12, 2011, JOHNSON pleaded guilty to one count of interstate transportation of stolen merchandise.

According to court documents and statements made in court, in February 2005, JOHNSON transported from Connecticut to New York City a Rolex wristwatch that he knew had been stolen. The watch, which had a retail value of $7,075, had been stolen from a jewelry store in Fairfield in early 2005.

This matter was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Edward Chang and Hal Chen.
