FBI Seeking Information in the Disappearance of John T. Weisbecker

On the sixth anniversary of the disappearance of John T. Weisbecker, the Newark Division is seeking information leading to the identity of the person or persons responsible for his disappearance.

John T. Weisbecker was last seen on March 11, 2009, at his home in Ocean City, New Jersey. On the morning of his disappearance, he spoke to his mother. Later that same day, the mailman noticed an opened side door when delivering mail. John was scheduled to begin working at Kessel’s Korner sandwich shop in Ocean City the day after his disappearance. Investigators believe Weisbecker was the victim of a crime.

Investigators from the FBI, Cape May County Prosecutors Office, New Jersey State Police, Ocean City Police Department, and several other local police departments and federal agencies continue to work together on this investigation.

Presently, law enforcement has reason to believe the following:

  1. He was unwillingly taken from his home and more than one person was involved in his disappearance.
  2. He may have known the individual(s) responsible for his disappearance.
  3. And, the individual(s) responsible for John’s disappearance are familiar with the Cape May County area.

John Weisbecker is a white male with brown hair and blue eyes. He is approximately 6’2” tall, and at the time of his disappearance, he weighed approximately 180 pounds. His date of birth is December 30, 1987.

The FBI, in conjunction with the Cape May County Prosecutors Office and the Ocean City Police Department, are offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information that leads to the recovery of John T. Weisbecker.
