Three G-Shine Members or Associates Plead Guilty to Crack Cocaine Charges

NEWARK, NJ—Three members or associates of the G-Shine Bloods criminal street gang operating in Plainfield, N.J., admitted today to their involvement with crack cocaine distribution in the area, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.
Andre Kelly, 44, a/k/a “Duke,” of Edison, N.J.; and Mustafa Harris, 32, a/k/a “Moose,” and Marcus Williams, 27, a/k/a “Twin,” of Plainfield, pleaded guilty to separate informations charging one count each of distribution of crack cocaine. Kelly, Harris and Williams entered their guilty pleas before U.S. District Judge Susan D. Wigenton in Newark federal court.
According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court, in 2010, Kelly, Harris, and Williams each distributed crack cocaine to an FBI confidential informant for prices ranging from $1,500 to $3,000.
Each defendant faces a minimum potential penalty of five years in prison and a maximum potential penalty of 40 years in prison and a $2 million fine, as well as restitution as ordered by the court. Sentencing for all three defendants is scheduled for September 27, 2011.
U.S. Attorney Fishman credited special agents of the FBI, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Michael B. Ward in Newark, and the FBI Violent Crimes Criminal Enterprise Task Force assigned to the Safe Streets Task Force; the Union County Prosecutor’s Office; the New Jersey State Police; and the Plainfield Police Department for the investigation leading to the guilty pleas.
The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Rodney Villazor of the U.S. Attorney’s Office Narcotics/Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Unit in Newark.
