FBI Police Week Message

Transcript:

Hello, I am FBI Director Robert Mueller. On behalf of the men and women serving in the FBI, I'd like to take the opportunity to recognize and express gratitude to all of our law enforcement colleagues commemorating National Police Week.

For nearly a half a Century, this annual event has provided a poignant time for reflection and remembrance as we honor those men and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Their deaths remind us that we must never take our safety for granted, and that our cherished freedoms do not come without a price. The sacrifices of these men and women are the reasons we continue to live in a nation of freedom and opportunity.

Many of us come from different walks of life, however we are bound by common values. Courage. Sacrifice. And service. Service to our children, service to our communities, service to our country.

The FBI is proud to be your partner in protecting our citizens and we remain committed to standing shoulder-to-shoulder with you as we face threats to our communities. Thank you for your service and dedication.
