RBC Bank Robber Sentenced

MOBILE, AL—Michael Joseph Shaughnessy, a resident of Semmes, Alabama, was sentenced to a 57-month term of imprisonment today, United States Attorney Kenyen R. Brown announced.

Shaughnessy had previously entered a guilty plea to the September 8, 2010, robbery of the RBC Bank at 7800 Moffett Road in Semmes. Shaughnessy was arrested approximately an hour-and-a-half after the robbery, and $11,370 of the $12,489 taken during the robbery was recovered.

The case was investigated by the Mobile Police Department and the FBI and was prosecuted by United States Attorney Deborah Griffin.
