Fort Totten Man Pleads Guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter

FARGO—U.S. Attorney Timothy Q. Purdon announced that on March 6, 2013, Louis John Dunn of Fort Totten, North Dakota, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Ralph R. Erickson to a charge of involuntary manslaughter.
On October 12, 2012, Dunn, 33, while driving under the influence of alcohol, drove into the lane of on-oming traffic and struck the vehicle driven by Andrew Greywater, who subsequently died from the injuries he received in the crash.
The incident occurred on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation.
The charge of involuntary manslaughter carries a statutory maximum penalty of eight years’ imprisonment. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Sentencing for Dunn has been scheduled for May 29, 2012, in U.S. District Court in Fargo, North Dakota, at 10:45 a.m.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Janice M. Morley is prosecuting the case.
