Winner Woman Sentenced for Misprision of a Felony

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Winner, South Dakota woman charged with misprision of a felony was sentenced on November 27, 2012, by United States District Judge Roberto A. Lange. Allisa Hawkman, age 21, was sentenced to three months in custody and six months of supervised release.

The conviction stems from an incident that took place on April 13, 2012, when Hawkman had knowledge of a felony assault and concealed the assault from law enforcement.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tim Maher.
