Western State Bank Branch in Fargo Robbed

FBI Minneapolis February 10, 2011
  • Chief Division Counsel Kyle A. Loven (763) 569-8540

On February 10, 2011, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Western State Bank branch located at 4302 13th Avenue South in Fargo, North Dakota, was robbed by a lone masked man. The suspect entered the bank and proceeded to the teller counter. The suspect threatened that he had a gun. No weapon was actually observed, but the robber kept one hand in his pocket during the robbery. The robber also made a verbal demand for money to the teller. The teller was not able to access any cash at the teller counter, so the teller and the robber walked together to the drive-up window area. There the teller was able to open a drawer and provide the robber with an undisclosed amount of money. The robber left the bank on foot and was last seen walking in a southbound direction. No one was injured in the robbery.

The suspect was described as a white middle-aged male, about 5’10” to 6’2” tall, weighing about 190 pounds, and having a medium build. He wore a dark hooded jacket, dark pants, dark gloves, dark boots, and a dark mask.

Ralph S. Boelter, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis Office of the FBI, requests that anyone with information regarding the bank robbery contact the Fargo FBI Office at 701/232-7241, the Minneapolis FBI at 612-376-3200, or the Fargo Police Department at 701/451-7660.
