Seeking Information on Attempted Bank Robbery in Robbinsdale

FBI Minneapolis September 20, 2010
  • Chief Division Counsel Kyle A. Loven (763) 569-8540

On September 20, 2010, at approximately 6:15 a.m., the Citizen’s Independent Bank, located at 3700 West Broadway in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, was the target of an attempted bank robbery. A lone robber forced his way into the bank when an employee arrived for work. The robber demanded access to the bank’s vault, but the employee told the robber that the vault could not be opened until another employee arrives for work. The bank robber was overheard talking on a cell phone before he left the bank without obtaining any money. The Robbinsdale Police Department responded but were unable to locate any suspects as the robber was not seen leaving the area.

The robber is described as a male of unknown race, about 5’8” tall, thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, blue knit cap, gloves, sunglasses, and carrying a backpack. The victim employee did not observe a weapon. The robbery is being investigated by the Robbinsdale Police Department and the FBI.

Ralph S. Boelter, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis Office of the FBI, requests that anyone with information regarding this bank robbery contact the Minneapolis FBI at 612-376-3200, the Robbinsdale Police Department, or Crime Stoppers.
