Park Midway Bank in St. Paul Robbed

FBI Minneapolis August 04, 2010
  • Chief Division Counsel Kyle A. Loven (763) 569-8540

On August 4, 2010, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Park Midway Bank, located at 2300 Como Avenue in St. Paul, Minnesota, was robbed by a lone masked man. The robber entered the bank and approached the teller counter. He demanded money from a female teller, and after being provided with some cash, the robber told the teller to leave the bank with him. The robber pointed a handgun at the teller as they walked out of the bank together. Once outside, the teller broke free and ran back into the bank. An off-duty St. Paul Police Department officer was working as an armed guard at the bank and observed the robbery in progress. When the teller broke free, the officer made an attempt to intervene. The robber fired two shots at the officer, but no one was injured. The officer did not return fire. The robber was last seen leaving the area in a purple minivan. The St. Paul Police Department and the FBI are making efforts to locate and apprehend the robber.

The robber is described as a black male, about 6’2” tall, thin build, wearing a dark jacket and pants, and a dark, homemade knit mask.

Ralph S. Boelter, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis office of the FBI, requests that anyone with information regarding this bank robbery contact the Minneapolis FBI at 612-376-3200, the St. Paul Police Department, or Crime Stoppers. A reward is offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the bank robbers.
