Robbery of TCF Bank Branch in Maplewood

On Sunday, May 23, 2010, at approximately 10:50 a.m., the TCF Bank located in Cub Foods at 2390 White Bear Avenue, Maplewood, Minnesota, was robbed by a lone individual. The robber entered the bank, approached the victim teller, presented a note demanding cash, and threatened to shoot if the teller did not comply. After the teller turned over the money, the robber left the bank and the store, got into an unknown vehicle, and fled the area.

The robber is described as an asian male in his early to mid 20’s, approximately 5’5” tall with a slim build and short-cropped dark hair. He was wearing a blue and white flannel shirt, dark jeans, white sneakers, a white baseball cap with a printed design on it, large dark sunglasses, and a red bandana wrapped around his neck.

Ralph S. Boelter, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis Office of the FBI, requests that anyone with information regarding this bank robbery contact the Minneapolis FBI at 612-376-3200, the Maplewood Police Department, or Crime Stoppers. A reward is offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of this bank robber.
