Inver Grove Heights Man Sentenced for Robbing St. Paul Bank

A 45-year-old Inver Grove Heights man was sentenced today in federal court for robbing a St. Paul TCF Bank on January 6, 2009.
On September 29 in St. Paul, United States District Court Judge Patrick Schiltz sentenced Dale Andrew Robinson to 33 months in prison and three years of supervised release on one count of bank robbery. Robinson was indicted on February 10 and pleaded guilty on April 16.
In his plea agreement, Robinson admitted taking $1,598 from the bank, located at 444 Cedar St.
According to a Federal Bureau of Investigation affidavit, at approximately 3:51 p.m. on January 6 the robber presented a demand note to a teller and received cash before fleeing on foot.
Several people saw photos of the robbery in the media and reported that Robinson resembled the person depicted in the photos. They also reported they had seen Robinson wear a hat similar to the one worn by the robber.
This case was the result of an investigation by the FBI and the St. Paul Police Department. It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Nathan P. Petterson.
