  • District of South Dakota (605) 330-4400

First Assistant United States Attorney Dennis R. Holmes announced that several men have been indicted by a federal grand jury for drug conspiracy. Robert Pond, age 24, of Pine Ridge; Orville Oldson, age 30, of Porcupine; Leslie Oldson, Sr., age 47 of Pine Ridge; Les (LJ) Oldson, age 28, of Pine Ridge; and Ferris White Bull, age 31, of Pine Ridge, were indicted by a federal grand jury on May 19, 2009, for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and marijuana. The defendants appeared before US Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno by video conference on May 29, 2009, and all pled not guilty to the indictment.

The maximum penalty upon conviction is forty years’ imprisonment and a $250,000 fine. The charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The investigation is being conducted by the FBI. Assistant US Attorney Mara M. Kohn is prosecuting the cases. Robert Pond, Orville Oldson, Leslie Oldson, Sr., Les (LJ) Oldson, and White Bull were all remanded to the custody of the US Marshal. A trial date has not yet been set.
