Kyle Woman Sentenced for Stabbing

United States Attorney Marty J. Jackley announced that a Kyle woman charged with assault resulting in serious bodily injury was sentenced on May 29, 2009, by US District Court Chief Judge Karen E. Schreier.

Shirley Ghost Dog, age 46, was sentenced to thirty-seven months’ imprisonment, two years’ supervised release and a special assessment of $100 to the Victims’ Assistance Fund. Ghost Dog was originally indicted for assault resulting in serious bodily injury and assault with a dangerous weapon by a federal grand jury on December 16, 2008. On July 21, 2008, she stabbed another person in the chest. She pled guilty to the offense on March 2, 2009.

This case was investigated by the BIA, OST and FBI. Assistant US Attorney Carolyn G. Olson prosecuted the case. Ghost Dog was immediately turned over to the custody of the US Marshal
