Pine Ridge Man Sentenced to 12 Years for Sexually Abusing Three Girls

Rapid City, SD—United States Attorney Marty J. Jackley announced that a man charged with abusive sexual contact was sentenced on April 17, 2009, by US District Court Chief Judge Karen E. Schreier. John Red Feather, Sr., age 56, of Pine Ridge, was sentenced to 144 months' imprisonment, lifetime supervised release, and ordered to pay a special assessment of $300 to the Victim's Assistance Fund. Between April 2005 and February 2008, near Pine Ridge, Red Feather sexually abused three different girls. Red Feather was indicted for aggravated sexual abuse by a federal grand jury on September 10, 2008. He pled guilty to a superseding information charging him with abusive sexual contact on January 26, 2009. This case was investigated by the FBI. Assistant US Attorney Carolyn G. Olson. Red Feather was immediately turned over to the custody of the US Marshal.
