Merrill Woman Pleads Guilty to Forging Check

MADISON, WI—John W. Vaudreuil, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Amy J. Rajek, 37, Merrill, Wisconsin, pleaded guilty today in U.S. District Court in Madison to knowingly forging a check belonging to her previous employer G3 Industries Inc.
As part of the plea agreement, Rajek agreed that the appropriate figure for restitution based upon her relevant conduct is $421,800.
U.S. District Judge William M. Conley scheduled sentencing for January 10, 2014, at 3:30 p.m. The defendant faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and will be required to pay restitution in the amount of $421,800.
The charge against Amy J. Rajek was the result of an investigation conducted by the Wausau Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Kronenwetter Police Department, and Merrill Police Department. The prosecution of the case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Grant C. Johnson.
