Nancy McNamara, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Milwaukee office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced today the arrest of JEFFERY FARRINGTON, age 52, a resident of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin. He is charged with armed bank robbery, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2113 (d).

FARRINGTON was arrested today in connection with the January 5, 2011 armed bank robbery of Associated Bank located at 828 Fox Point Plaza, in Neenah, Wisconsin. During the robbery, it is alleged that FARRINGTON used what he claimed to be an explosive device.

A federal search warrant was conducted at FARRINGTON’s residence today, where he was arrested and taken into custody without incident.

Today’s arrest was made by special agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF); the Cottage Grove Police Department; and the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.

FARRINGTON’s initial appearance is in U.S. District Court in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this afternoon.

The public is warned that an arrest warrant is merely a method by which to charge an individual with criminal conduct. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
