FBI Special Agent Involved in Shooting

A special agent with the Milwaukee Division of the FBI, assigned to the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) task force, shot at a suspect this afternoon while effecting an arrest warrant.

The incident began around 12:25 p.m. today near South 84th Street and West Schlinger Avenue, in West Allis, Wisconsin. When HIDTA task force officers attempted to arrest a male suspect on a state warrant for possession with intent to deliver heroin, a shot was fired as the suspect attempted to flee. The suspect suffered a non-life threatening injury and is currently in custody.

In accordance with FBI policy, the incident is under investigation by the West Allis Police Department, Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office, United States Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Wisconsin, and the FBI Inspection Division, Washington, D.C.
