FBI Announces a Fifth Arrest in the Robbery and Killing of a Brink’s Armored Car Courier Sunday Evening at Calder Casino and Race Course, Miami Gardens, Florida

John V. Gillies, Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Miami Division of the FBI, announces the arrest of Uri Steven Ammar, 26, of Hollywood, Florida, in the August 21, 2011, robbery and killing of a Brink’s armored car courier at Calder Casino and Race Course, Miami Gardens, Florida. The arrest was made without incident by members of the South Florida Violent Crimes Task Force (SFVCTF). The SFVCTF and Miami Gardens Police Department continue the investigation.

The fifth individual arrested is expected to face federal charges. It is anticipated that he (and all of the four other suspects) will have his initial appearance in federal court tomorrow in Miami, FL, at 1:30 pm.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending concurrence by the family.
