Miami FBI Prepares for Superbowl

The Miami-Dade Police Department, in partnership with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and the NFL Security, have been tasked with the planning and implementation of security measures for Super Bowl XLN, Pro Bowl, and the Orange Bowl.

On Thursday, December 3, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Land Shark Stadium (2269 NW 199 Street), law enforcement officials from various agencies will provide information on certain security procedures in conjunction with placing on display, numerous pieces of security equipment, that will be utilized before, during, and after each one of these three major sport events.

Media outlets are encouraged to arrive at the stadium at approximately 10:00 a.m. to setup and interview Interim Director James Loftus of the Miami-Dade Police Department; Lieutenant Colonel Rick Frey of the Broward Sheriff Office; Federal Coordinator Admiral Steve Branham of the United States Coast Guard; and Nan Markowitz from the South Florida Super Bowl Committee .
