LOUISVILLE, KY—A federal grand jury in Louisville returned an indictment against Christon L. Crabtree, age 32, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, on charges of stalking his wife on Fort Knox, United States Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today.

The Indictment alleges that between September 18, 2009 and September 21, 2009, Crabtree did knowingly travel between Florida and Kentucky with the intent to kill, injure, harass and intimidate his spouse currently residing on Fort Knox. Crabtree was also indicted for violating a protection order between him and his wife, and for entering Fort Knox when he had been barred from the installation in late 2008 for assaulting his wife.

In the event of a conviction, the maximum potential penalties are five years’ imprisonment, a $255,000 fine, and supervised release for a period of one year.

The case is being prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Raymond R. Adams, and it was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Crabtree is scheduled to appear for arraignment before the United States Magistrate Judge on October 22, 2009, at 9:30 a.m., in Louisville, Kentucky.
