LOUISVILLE, KY—A federal grand jury in Louisville returned an indictment against Nigel D. Walker, age 24, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in Milwaukee County, on the charge of felony burglary in the first degree, Acting U.S. Attorney Candace G. Hill of the Western District of Kentucky announced today.

The Indictment alleges that on June 24, 2008, Walker approached his former girlfriend at the entrance of her Fort Knox residence. An argument ensued when she refused to permit Walker inside her home. Walker then punched her in the face, the force of which knocked her several steps backwards into the house. Walker immediately followed her inside, continued to strike her repeatedly, and locked his hands around her neck. The former girlfriend fended off her attacker by grabbing hold of a nearby pocket knife and used it against Walker. After receiving cuts to his face and hands, Walker fled through a bedroom window.

In the event of a conviction, the maximum potential penalties are 25 years’ imprisonment, fine of $250,000, and five years of supervised release.

The case is being prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Mike S. Ni, and it was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Fort Knox Military Police.
