FBI Atlanta September 05, 2013 |
ATLANTA—Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Mark F. Giuliano, in conjunction with Assistant Director in Charge (ADIC) Bill L. Lewis, FBI Los Angeles Field Office, announces the following fugitive arrest at Woodstock, Georgia:
Raymond G. Berry, 50 years of age, of Los Angeles, California, was arrested this evening, Thursday, September 5, 2013, in Woodstock, Georgia (Cherokee County), by FBI agents out of Atlanta and their task force members from the Cherokee County, Georgia Sheriff’s Department.
Berry is wanted by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton Division on an attempted murder arrest warrant signed on May 17, 2012. Those charges stem from an April 2012 altercation involving the attempted murder of a family member. FBI Los Angeles subsequently obtained a federal unlawful flight to avoid prosecution (UFAP) warrant, and after remaining a fugitive for over a year-and-a-half, Berry was apprehended without incident in the north metro Atlanta area of Woodstock, Georgia. Berry remains in the Cherokee County Jail where he awaits extradition proceedings back to California.
