Lee Rawls - Senior Counsel to the Director
Mr. Rawls
was named the FBI Director's Senior Counsel in September 2007.
He had returned to the Bureau in April 2006 as Chief of Staff
to the Director, and he had previously served in the Director's
Office as Counsel and Chief of Staff from 2001-2003.
In the
more than 30 years that he has worked in Washington, Mr. Rawls
has also been Chief of Staff to Majority Leader Bill Frist,
Chief of Staff to Senator Pete Domenici, and Assistant Attorney
General for the Office of Legislative Affairs at the U.S.
Department of Justice.
Previously
he has been a partner in the law firms of Vinson & Elkins
and Baker, Donelson. Additionally, he served as Vice President
for Government Relations at The Biotechnology Industry Organization
and as a Vice President for the lobbying firm of Van Scoyoc
Associates. He presently holds a position as adjunct professor
at the college of William and Mary.
He received
his B.A. from Princeton University and his J.D. from George
Washington University.
