  • District of Nevada (703) 388-6336

LAS VEGAS—A joint federal and local law enforcement task force investigation has resulted in arrests and federal indictments over the last week against 10 members and associates of the Donna Street Crips and Anybody’s Murders street gangs for crack cocaine trafficking and unlawful possession of a firearm, announced Daniel G. Bogden, United States Attorney for the District of Nevada.

The Las Vegas Safe Streets Gang Task Force, comprised of the Las Vegas Division of the FBI, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and the North Las Vegas Police Department, conducted the investigation leading to the federal charges. Four men are charged in one indictment with conspiracy to traffic in crack cocaine; four men are charged in separate indictments with distribution of crack cocaine; and one man is charged separately with unlawful possession of a firearm. The indictments were returned on Tuesday, December 7, 2010.

The four men charged with drug conspiracy charges were arraigned last week. They are: Jorge Montes, aka “Jaime,” and “Camotes,” 32; Brandon Johnson, aka “Spank,” 27; Antione Hall, aka “Bookworm,” 35; and Tarhain Woods, aka “Boochie,” 38, all of Las Vegas. They are each charged with conspiracy to distribute 280 grams of crack cocaine or more from at least June 2009, and variously with 16 counts of distribution of crack cocaine. They appeared on December 13 and December 14, 2010, before U.S. Magistrate Judge George W. Foley, Jr., pled not guilty to the charges, and were detained pending trial.

The four men charged with crack distribution charges are: Andrew Thorns, aka “Concrete,” 46, charged with four counts of distribution of crack cocaine; Bruce Johnson, aka “G,” 38, charged with two counts of distribution of crack cocaine; Maurice Swanson, aka “Mo Ski,” 38, charged with seven counts of distribution of crack cocaine; and Terrance Henderson, aka “Blunt,” 30, charged with three counts of distribution of crack cocaine. They are all of Las Vegas. Henderson had an initial appearance yesterday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Peggy A. Leen, pleaded not guilty, and was released on a personal recognizance bond. Thorns, Johnson, and Swanson made their initial appearances last week before U.S. Magistrate Judge George W. Foley, Jr., pled not guilty, and were detained pending trial.

Deniro Westfield, 20, of Las Vegas, is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm. Westfield made his initial appearance on December 14, 2010, pleaded not guilty, and was detained pending trial.

LaRon Moore, 39, of Las Vegas, is charged in a criminal complaint with conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine. Moore made his initial appearance on December 6, 2010, and was detained pending a preliminary hearing, currently set for January 20, 2011, at 4:00 p.m.

The cases are being investigated by the FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force, and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kathleen Bliss and Nicholas D. Dickinson.

The public is reminded that an indictment contains only charges and is not evidence of guilt. The defendants are presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial at which the government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
