The FBI in Reno is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of robbing five area Bank of the West locations over the past several months.

During the robberies, the suspect has worn a gray fedora, dark sunglasses, and a fake brown goatee and has threatened bank employees and customers with a handgun, possibly a .357 revolver. No one has been injured during any of the five robberies.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately six-feet tall, with a thin build, pale skin, and a shaved head. He appears to be in his late 30’s or early 40’s, and speaks with no discernable accent.

The suspect’s most recent robbery was Monday, April 12, 2010, at a Bank of the West branch in Carson City. Dating back to February, 2010, the suspect has also robbed Bank of the West branches in South Lake Tahoe and Kings Beach, and two branches in Grass Valley, CA. The FBI in Reno and northern California are jointly investigating these robberies.

The FBI requests that the public closely inspect the bank surveillance photographs provided alongside this press release, and contact the FBI in Reno at 775-825-6600 if they have any information regarding the identity of the suspect.
