Robbery of Capital Bank Branch in Maryville

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Chief Tony J. Crisp of the Maryville Police Department (MPD) are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man who robbed the Capital Bank in Maryville today.

At approximately 4:10 p.m. on March 13, 2013, the suspect entered the Capital Bank located at 403 Foothills Mall Drive, Maryville, Tennessee. He submitted a demand note to the teller and demanded money. The subject was described as:

  • White male
  • Late 20s to early 30s
  • 5’08” to 5’10” tall
  • Average build
  • Brown hair
  • Scruffy facial hair
  • Olive or tan Carhartt-style jacket and blue jeans

After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspect fled the scene on foot. Anyone with information is asked to call the Knoxville FBI at 865-544-0751 or the Maryville PD at 865-380-1388. A reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of this individual. Photos of the suspect are below.


This matter is being investigated jointly by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force (which consists of personnel from the FBI, KPD, and KCSO) and the Maryville Police Department.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
