Jefferson City Resident Arrested on Explosives Charges
Mark Slone Attempted to Sell Stolen Emulsion Type High Explosives

GREENEVILLE, TN—Mark Slone, 43, of Jefferson City, Tennessee, was arrested Friday, October 1, 2010, in Jefferson City by agents of the FBI on charges involving the illegal dealing, possession, and sale of stolen explosive materials.

An initial appearance was conducted on Monday, October 4, 2010, in United States District Court in Greeneville, before the Honorable Dennis H. Inman, United States Magistrate Judge. If convicted of the charges, Slone faces a maximum punishment of up to 10 years in prison on each count; up to three years supervised release on each count; and up to $250,000 fine on each count.

The details of the charges are outlined in the complaint and arrest warrant, which are attached to this press release and are filed as public records in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee at Greeneville. The documents were unsealed after Slone’s initial appearance. Slone was ordered temporarily detained and his detention hearing is scheduled for Thursday, October 7, 2010, at 10:00 a.m., before Magistrate Judge Inman.
