TVA Employees Credit Union Robbed

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Sheriff Jimmy “J.J.” Jones of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man who robbed the TVA Employees Credit Union this morning.

At approximately 9:15 a.m., the suspect entered the TVA Employees Credit Union located at 7210 Chapman Highway in Knoxville, presented a note demanding money, and threatened a weapon. Witnesses described the suspect as a heavy-set white male, late 20s to early 30s, approximately 6’ and 6’2” tall, with short hair and a goatee. The suspect was further described as wearing a gray t-shirt, dark sweat pants, and a gray/blue baseball style hat with a skull and crossbones displayed on the front.

After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspect left the bank in a late 70s to early 80s model, off-white, sport utility vehicle. A reward is being offered for any information which leads to the arrest of this individual. Anyone with information is asked to call the Knoxville FBI at 865-544-0751 or the KCSO at 865-215-2243. This matter is being investigated jointly by the FBI SSTF and KCSO Major Crimes Unit.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
