The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Sheriff Jimmy “J.J.” Jones of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the men who robbed a BB&T Bank today.

At approximately 4:45 this afternoon, the two suspects entered the BB&T Bank located at 330 North Cedar Bluff Road in Knoxville, displayed handguns and demanded money. Witnesses described Suspect #1 as a black male, thin build, approximately 20 to 25 years old, between 5’5” and 5’7” tall, weighing approximately 165 pounds. Suspect #2 was described as a black male, thin build with broad shoulders, mid-20s, between 5’11” and 6’ tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds. Both suspects were dressed completely in black clothing including long-sleeved shirts and long pants. Additionally, both were wearing gloves, black caps, and black fabric was used to cover their faces.

The suspects bound bank employees inside the bank, obtained an undetermined amount of money, and subsequently left the scene in one of the employees’ vehicles. The vehicle was recovered a short time later. A reward is being offered for any information which leads to the arrest of these individuals. Specifically, authorities are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the suspects abandon a silver, Honda Accord at approximately 5:00 p.m beside Aarons Rentals, 484 N. Cedar Bluff Road, to please call the Knoxville FBI at 865-544-0751 or the KCSO at 865-215-2243.

This matter is being investigated jointly by the FBI Safe Streets Task Forces (which consists of FBI, KPD, and KCSO personnel) and the KCSO Major Crimes Unit.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
