FBI’s ‘Grandad Bandit’ Strikes Again
Billboards Updated and Vehicle Description Now Available

The individual suspected in a multitude of bank robberies throughout a dozen states including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Michigan, Mississippi, Oklahoma, New York, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia, struck again on Wednesday—this time in Huntsville, Alabama. Investigators now have additional information to release in furtherance of identifying the suspect.
The suspect may be driving a black, four-door, Ford F150 or F250 pickup truck with an Alabama license plate. As of today, there are approximately 75 electronic billboards up and running throughout 10 states, including Tennessee. All billboards are currently being updated to include a photograph of the suspect’s vehicle.
The suspect is still considered armed and dangerous and anyone with information should contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6’ tall, weighing 210-230 pounds. Typically, the man enters the victim bank, approaches the teller counter, and hands the teller a note demanding money. During some of the robberies, he has threatened to have a weapon.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of this individual. This matter is being investigated jointly by multiple FBI field offices as well as the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and Knoxville Police Department, as part of the FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force.
