Robert Thomas Shultz Pleads Guilty to Receiving and Possessing Child Pornography

KNOXVILLE—Robert Thomas Shultz, 34, of Knoxville, Tennessee, pleaded guilty today to receiving child pornography over the Internet and possessing child pornography. The Honorable Thomas A. Varlan, United States District Court Judge, scheduled a hearing for Tuesday, January 12, 2010, to address Shultz’s detention pending sentencing on April 23, 2010.
This case is part of the Department’s “Project Safe Childhood” initiative, which targets individuals that produce, distribute and possess child pornography over the Internet.
This conviction is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Knoxville Police Department, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew T. Morris represented the United States.
