FBI Knoxville January 04, 2010 |
The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Chief Sterling Owen IV of the Knoxville Police Department (KPD) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man who robbed a Knoxville bank today. The suspect is believed to be the same individual who robbed the Regions Bank located at 7821 Kingston Pike on 12/29/2009.
At approximately 12:25 p.m, a man entered the Green Bank located at 10201 Parkside Drive in Knoxville, verbally threatened a gun and demanded money. Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, in his late 20s to early 30s, between 5’7” and 5’9” tall, and weighing approximately 160 pounds. The suspect was wearing blue jeans, a dark jacket, black and white tennis shoes, and a toboggan style hat. He was also carrying a small, white, soft-sided bag. After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspect left the scene in a white, Ford F150 pickup truck which was recovered shortly after the robbery and was determined to be stolen from Florida.
A reward is being offered for any information which leads to the arrest of this individual. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 865-544-0751 or the KPD at 865-215-7212. This matter is being investigated jointly by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force (which consists of personnel from the FBI, KPD, and KCSO), and the KPD Major Crimes Unit.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
