Johnson City Police Department and the FBI are Searching for Man Who Robbed Northeast Community Credit Union

Chief John Lowry of the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD) and the Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man who robbed a Johnson City credit union today.

At approximately 2:06 this afternoon, a man entered the Northeast Community Credit Union located at 313 West Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, Tennessee. After claiming he had a gun and threatening the teller, the suspect obtained an undetermined amount of money, and fled the scene on foot.

Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, in his late 20s to early 30s, between 5’9” and 6” tall, medium build, and weighing between 180 and 200 pounds. The suspect was wearing blue jeans, a light green, button-down short sleeved shirt, dark colored shoes or boots, and a green, mesh-styled ball cap with a yellow “John Deere” logo.

A reward is being offered for information which leads to the arrest of this individual. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 865-544-0751 or the JCPD at (423) 434-6166.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
