FBI, KPD, and KCSO, as Part of the Safe Streets Task Force, Along with the Oak Ridge Police Department, are Searching for Man Who Robbed SunTrust Bank

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Chief David Beams of the Oak Ridge Police Department (ORPD) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man who robbed an Oak Ridge bank today.

At approximately 9:12 a.m., a man entered the SunTrust Bank located at 1188 Oak Ridge Turnpike in Oak Ridge and threatened to have a weapon. Witnesses described the suspect as a black male, late 40s to early 50s, between 5’8”and 5’ 10”tall, approximately 180 to 200 pounds, with a graying mustache. Suspect was wearing baggy blue pants, a blue knit cap with a Sean Jean logo on the back, and a blue jacket with light colored sleeves and possibly an attached hood. After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspect left the scene on foot.

A reward is being offered for information which leads to the arrest of this individual. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 865-544-0751 or the ORPD at 865-425-4399.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
