Photograph of Sirius Hi, my name is Sirius, and I am a Yellow Labrador Retriever. I am assigned to the FBI Miami office in South Florida.

I joined the FBI in August 2003 as an Explosives Detection Canine and have been certified annually by the North American Police Work Dog Association. My handler and partner is Special Agent Bomb Technician Carmen Kentala.

I have a great time going to work with my handler Carmen. South Florida is a very busy place, but I have also been deployed throughout the country and have worked at several Super Bowls, Daytona 500 NASCAR Races, Presidential Debates, G-8 Summits, and Track & Field Olympic Trials, just to name a few. I have also traveled throughout the U.S. (even Hawaii), assisting my handler with her teaching of improvised explosives. I show the other canines that it is easy to find these explosives as well.

We train just about everyday to keep my skills finely tuned. The best day of the week is Wednesday, when my handler and I go to train with other canines and their handlers in South Florida. We get to train on boats, airplanes, warehouses, courthouses, sports arenas, busses…YOU NAME IT AND WE HAVE BEEN THERE TRAINING! My favorite training site is inside a building because it is nice and cool. Florida can get pretty warm in the summer.

I love my job with the FBI because I get to meet so many nice people and travel to so many neat places. But, of course, when I am not working, I like to spend time with my family just relaxing.
