Photograph of DiscoHi! My name is Disco, and I am a yellow Labrador Retriever. I’m assigned to the FBI Los Angeles Field Office in sunny California.

I was donated by The Foundation for Combating Terrorism and Transnational Crime, a non-profit corporation located in Redondo Beach, California, that partners with Southern California law enforcement agencies to combat terrorism. I joined the FBI in February 2003 as an Explosive Detection K-9 after receiving extensive training with the Work Dogs International in Banning, California. My handler and partner is Special Agent Kathleen Carson.

I have the best job! I get to work around a lot of people at exciting venues such as The Academy Awards, The Golden Globe Awards, The Emmy Awards, The Olympics, and The Super Bowls—just to mention a few.

Dog handlers.I’m pictured here with my other K-9 friends and their handlers (left to right) from FBI Miami and FBI San Francisco. When I’m not working, I’m playing and relaxing with my family.

The Los Angeles Field Office is a great place to work. The agents and professional support staff treat me like the top dog that I am. Every time they see me coming, the red carpet is rolled out for me. I receive a lot of hugs and kisses, not to fail to mention all of those treats! Hummh, I might get more treats than my handler knows about? Oh well, I’m not going to worry about it. I’ll burn off the extra calories. I’m truly a “Lucky Dog.”
