TOPEKA, KN—The former executive director of the housing authority in Linn, Kansas, pleaded guilty Friday to a federal theft charge, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said.

Debra L. Savage, 53, Linn, Kansas, pleaded guilty to one count of theft from a federal program. In her plea, she admitted that between December 3, 2009 and December 1, 2012, she used a credit card issued to the Linn Housing Authority for personal expenses totaling more than $7,652.

Sentencing is set for April 4. She faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000. Grissom commended the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-Office of Inspector General, the FBI, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Christine Kenney for their work on the case.
