Leavenworth Man Pleads Guilty to Producing Child Pornography

KANSAS CITY, KS—A Leavenworth man has pleaded guilty to producing child pornography, a crime that could get him 30 years in federal prison, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said today.

Allan Fry, 38, Leavenworth, Kan., pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kan., to one count of producing child pornography. In his plea, he admitted to taking photos of a 14-year-old boy with an erect penis and sending the photographs to an undercover police officer in Keene, New Hampshire. The boy was the son of someone Fry knew.

Fry came into contact with the undercover officer on the Internet through a web group called “malepuberty” where he used the screen name “Allboy.” Investigators followed an electronic trail to Fry’s home in Leavenworth. Forensic analysis showed the photographs were taken on an Apple iPhone. Investigators determined Fry possessed about 4,000 images of child pornography and 60 video files of child pornography on discs at his home, including videos of him having sex with minor males.

Sentencing is set for May 23. Prosecutors are recommending a sentence of 30 years in federal prison. Grissom commended the Keene (New Hampshire) Police Department, the FBI, Assistant U.S. Attorney Kim Martin, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Scott Rask for their work on the case.
