WICHITA, KS—Joal William Goodwin, 36, Chanute, Kansas, has been sentenced to 151 months in federal prison for bank robbery, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said today.

Goodwin pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery. In his plea, he admitted that on June 24, 2009, he robbed the Commercial Bank at 1315 S. Santa Fe in Chanute, Kansas. Goodwin entered the bank, told a teller to empty a cash drawer into a bag, and left the bank with the money.

Grissom commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron Smith for their work on the case.
