Rockaway Beach Man Indicted for Bank Robberies

U.S. Attorney’s Office November 02, 2010
  • Western District of Missouri (816) 426-3122

JEFFERSON CITY, MO—Beth Phillips, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Rockaway Beach, Mo., man was indicted by a federal grand jury today for bank robberies in Columbia, Mo., and Sedalia, Mo.

Kenneth Dewain Parker, 47, of Rockaway Beach, was charged in a two-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Jefferson City, Mo.

Today’s indictment alleges that Parker stole $2,500 from U.S. Bank in Columbia on Sept. 3, 2010. The indictment also alleges that Parker stole $9,150 from Union Savings Bank in Sedalia on Sept. 21, 2010.

Phillips cautioned that the charges contained in this indictment are simply accusations, and not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charges must be presented to a federal trial jury, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jim Lynn. It was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Columbia, Mo., Police Department, the Sedalia, Mo., Police Department, the University City, Mo., Police Department, the Brentwood, Mo., Police Department, and the Taney County, Mo., Sheriff’s Department.
