Middleburg Man Indicted on Federal Charges of Advertisement and Receipt of Child Pornography

JACKSONVILLE—United States Attorney Robert E. O’Neill announced today the return of a four-count indictment charging Robert Hohman (65, Middleburg) with advertising and receiving child pornography. If convicted on the advertising count, Hohman faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years, up to 30 years in federal prison, and a $250,000 fine. On each of the three receipt counts, he faces a mandatory minimum of five years, up to 20 years in federal prison, and a $250,000 fine. Hohman was arrested by FBI agents on October 19, 2012.

An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law, and every defendant is presumed innocent until, and unless, proven guilty.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Malisa Chokshi.

It is another case brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
