FBI Jacksonville Participates in Walk the Extra Mile Event

04/12/13

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. On April 12, 2013, FBI Jacksonville members of the Clay County Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Task Force joined with around 60 other citizens in Green Cove Springs, Florida, for an event called Walk the Extra Mile to raise awareness of sexual assault and child abuse. Wearing teal shirts, participants waved at passing motorists on nearby U.S. Highway 17 as they walked a mile-long stretch toward the steps of the town courthouse. There, Mayor Pam Lewis declared April Sexual Assault Awareness Month in Green Cove Springs.
