04/29/13

The FBI Jacksonville Division, along with the United States Attorney’s Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), recently hosted the Northeast Florida Fraud Summit at the FDLE Conference Center in downtown Jacksonville. The event was free and provided members of the local community an opportunity to gain insight and ask questions of investigators from federal, state, and local agencies. Panel discussions were held to address a variety of topics, including identity theft, investment fraud, financial exploitation of the elderly, cyber intrusion, and emerging trends in fraud investigations. The event concluded with several victims of different types of fraud sharing their stories and offering advice on how to avoid what happened to them.
