FBI Jacksonville Celebrates Black History Month

03/07/13

In celebration of Black History Month 2013 last month, FBI Jacksonville employees enjoyed an inspiring presentation by Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Derek Cox, #21.

Mr. Cox proudly represented the Jaguars’ team motto, Stand United, which follows last year’s motto of All In—a theme adopted by the FBI’s Jacksonville Division. He shared his experience and advice about overcoming obstacles, setting goals, and being a positive member of a unified team. He conveyed the philosophy of treating others the way you would like to be treated, noting, “it’s all about the way someone feels when they walk away from you.”

After the presentation, Derek posed for photos with employees, autographed sports memorabilia, and enjoyed conversation during a breakfast prepared by FBI Jacksonville personnel. He was presented with a certificate of appreciation by Acting Special Agent in Charge Nestor Duarte, along with an FBI hat from the employees.
