Six members or associates of the Black Gangster Disciples Street Gang have been arrested on federal drug charges in George County, Mississippi, and Mobile, Alabama. In the early morning hours of January 13, 2014, agents arrested the following subjects in George County:

• Larry Anderson, aka “LD,” age 33 of Lucedale, Mississippi;
• Kermit Blackston, aka “Olin,” age 40, of Lucedale, Mississippi;
• Phillip Spivery, aka “Ponty,” age 51, of Lucedale, Mississippi;
• Samuel McDaniel, aka “Sambo,” age 31, of Lucedale, Mississippi;
• Calvin Allen, aka “D”, age 42, of Pascagoula, Mississippi

FBI agents arrested two additional subjects in Mobile, Alabama:

• Hosea Blackston, aka “Bulldog,” age 41, of Mobile, Alabama;
• Jamilia Nix, age 34, of Mobile, Alabama

All subjects have been charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The subjects arrested in Mississippi appeared before United States Magistrate Judge Robert H. Walker later today in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi in Gulfport. They will remain in custody pending a detention hearing before Magistrate Judge Walker scheduled to take place in Gulfport, Mississippi, at 2:00 p.m. on January 15, 2015.

Hosea Blackston, who was arrested in Mobile, Alabama, will also remain in custody pending a detention hearing. Jamilia Nix, also arrested in Mobile, was released on bond.

“Cooperation among all law enforcement agencies is key to keeping our Mississippi communities safer,” said Donald Alway, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI in Mississippi. “Cases like this prove that teamwork can make a difference.”

These arrests are the result of a two-year joint investigation into methamphetamine trafficking in Southeast Mississippi by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force in Pascagoula, Mississippi; the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics; the George County Sheriff’s Office; the Lucedale Police Department; and the South Mississippi Metro Enforcement Team. The FBI Safe Streets Task Force is a Gulf Coast High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) initiative and receives funding from the Office of National Drug Control Policy in Washington, D.C. It is made up ofspecial agents from the FBI and law enforcement officers from the Pascagoula, Moss Point, Gautier, and Ocean Springs Police Departments; the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics; and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.
