Director Comey Visits FBI Jackson Field Office

On February 3, 2015, FBI Director James B. Comey visited the FBI’s Jackson Field Office for a second time since being sworn in as the seventh Director of the FBI on September 4, 2013. Director Comey makes regular visits to the FBI’s 56 field offices in order to be briefed on local issues and cases and to discuss recent developments at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. His first visit to Jackson occurred on September 25, 2013.

Director Comey met with current and retired Jackson field office personnel, graduates of the FBI’s Citizens Academy, and leaders of state, local, and other federal law enforcement agencies throughout Mississippi. The law enforcement leaders discussed matters of mutual interest affecting law officers in Mississippi and around the country. Director Comey praised the close working relationships between the FBI and Mississippi’s law enforcement community, recognizing the many partnerships, task forces, and working groups that provide an effective, collaborative force to combat various criminal violations.

Following these meetings, Director Comey participated in a media availability, during which he briefed and then took questions from reporters representing media outlets across Mississippi.
