Waveland Man Sentenced for Armed Robbery

GULFPORT, MS—Michael William Gardner, 48, of Waveland, Mississippi, was sentenced in U.S. District Court today to serve 200 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release for armed bank robbery, U.S. Attorney Gregory K. Davis and FBI Special Agent in Charge Daniel McMullen announced. He was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $8,81.10 to Hancock Bank.

On February 27, 2012, Gardner pled guilty to the armed robbery of the Hancock Bank in Waveland on July 14, 2011.

This case was investigated by the Waveland Police Department, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Annette Williams.
