Mississippi Woman Pleads Guilty to Sexual Abuse of a Minor

JACKSON, MS—Kristen Willis, 21, pled guilty in U.S. District Court to one count of abusive sexual contact, U.S. Attorney John M. Dowdy, Jr., announced today. Willis was a detention officer who admitted to engaging in sexual contact with an inmate who was being held in custody at the Choctaw Detention Center. The offense occurred within the boundaries of the Tribal Lands of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. Willis will be sentenced on January 17, 2012 and faces a maximum penalty of two years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
